Hickory Flat Dance Academy Inc. is the fulfillment of the lifelong dream of its owner and director, Kelley Riddle. Her vision was to create a place for children to come and be introduced to the fine arts in an environment of love and encouragement. A curriculum specifically designed by her allows students to learn classical dance technique in a fun and imaginative format. Many hands-on manipulatives such as a magic wands, bean bags, tutus, and rhythm sticks are used to hold the attention of young dancers. The curriculum also incorporates special musical stories that teach dance terms and technique as the child participates.

Hickory Flat Dance also caters to older dancers by offering a full range classical dance curriculum that includes Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Hip-Hop, and Pointe. Each student is given special time and attention no matter what their level of training may be.
