Hickory Flat Dance Academy is the fulfillment of the lifelong dream of its owner and director, Kelley Riddle. Her vision was to create a place for children to come and be introduced to the fine arts in an environment of love and encouragement. A curriculum specifically designed by her allows young students to learn classical dance technique in a fun and imaginative format.
Our studio also caters to older dancers by offering a full range of intermediate to advanced classical dance curriculum including Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Modern/Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip-Hop and Pointe. HFDA also puts on a full blown Nutcracker or Variety Christmas Show each December that all dancers are invited to participate in. Each student is given special time and attention no matter what their level of training may be.
Our program also offers a chance to audition for one of our Company levels. Auditions are held every Spring. See the Company page for more information regarding our Company Program.

We offer a variety of classes that focus on ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop and lyrical/contemporary that are specifically designed to give your dancer the best experience based on their age and aspirations.
- First Steps Program offers classes for ages 2.5 -4 years
- Expressions Program offers classes for ages 5-6 years
- Vibe Program offers classes

- Company Prep Program offers classes for dancers beginning at age 6 who are interested in preparing to audition for our Company Program.
- HFDA Company Program- For dancers ages 7- 18 that have auditioned and have been placed in an appropriate level based on age and skill.

Tutu's & Tap Shoes is a premier dancer's boutique conveniently located inside the HFDA studio. We offer all of your dancer's dress code needs as well as in-house professionals to properly size your dancer with shoes and attire.
Our boutique is open the following hours beginning August 14th when CCSD is in session.
